What you can expect and what we expect: We are looking for a DevOps Consultant for various projects in the EMEA region. You will be primarily responsible for ensuring an automated and efficient software delivery process in close collaboration with various IT teams at the client. In this role, you will understand customer needs for digital innovation and transformation with a strong focus on microservice architectures based on open source container technologies. With your expertise, you are able to make recommendations tailored to the client’s environment to develop appropriate solutions for their needs.

Your tasks

  • You will define and automate the client’s software creation and deployment processes based on container platforms using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Gradle, etc.
  • They help the customer define and implement their application configuration using the methods and tools offered by a technology stack based on JavaEE and Spring.
  • You work closely with the developers and introduce them to the maintenance of the implemented development infrastructure (e.g. GIT, Sonar Cube).
  • You will coordinate the collaboration with internal and external client teams responsible for infrastructure, release management, database administration, etc.
  • You bring innovative ideas and enthusiasm to the project team and identify new business opportunities

Your key qualifications

  • Prerequisite is: European work permit and a high degree of willingness to travel
  • Strong technical background in IT
  • Experience with enterprise deployment on Linux, Docker, software build pipelines and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GIT, Gradle).
  • Experience in working with container technologies
    Proven expertise in cloud technologies
  • Good knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS)
  • Knowledge of shell scripting, Java technology stack and basic DB administration
  • Advanced knowledge of all relevant safety aspects
  • Advanced know-how with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work seamlessly with distributed, cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of clients
  • Excellent balance between strategic and tactical skills and a high degree of mental agility
  • Good to know: German & experience with container platform solutions such as OpenShift, Kubernetes etc.
