A publicly listed company in the paper and packaging industry. They have two main divisions, one is about raw materials for the production of fast-moving consumer goods packaging. The other is about folding cartons. The core business covers both the large volume market of Food & Specialities as well as highly specialized printing and packaging services for the Premium market.

Due to fast growth the container infrastructure lacked some basic maintenance, regular updates, monitoring, proper role based access control, capacity planning and resources optimization.

The cloudWerkstatt experts provide 24/7 support for the Kubernetes clusters processing data from their production plants. Existing Virtual Machines were migrated to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. After finishing the migration, we will optimize the Kubernetes infrastructure. The project is ongoing; a preliminary benefit is that cluster maintenance and support are offloaded to cloudWerkstatt. Additionally, cloudWerkstatt has contributed to capacity-building by providing documentation and workshops to deepen the customer’s knowledge in Kubernetes and improved active monitoring, for reacting faster to any potential outage.
